Life @ Generation Z

Amidst the excitement over drinks

Smoking pot and hasty hook ups

There is a deafening silence

Because nobody ever talks.

Nobody initiates a heart to heart

Conversation that has power to heal

A conversation that can give

Vent to bottled up feelings.

People retort to emotional barracking

Unseen demons fill the air

And one is still always alone.

Parties shouldn’t be lonely

Should they be?

Masks are eclipses and cast

A dark shadow over faces

Except for the people

Whose faces can be seen clearly

Masks do not block their innocence

Because they aren’t a part of this crowd here

And have misplaced identities

Just doing something and looking for something else

Will they ever realise?
