India-France Business Summit to Commemorate 25 Years of Friendship
The visit is believed to boost bilateral ties between India and its main commercial partners in the European region.
On April 11, 2023, the India-France Business Summit will be co-chaired by Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, and Mr. Olivier Becht, Minister Delegate of Foreign Trade, Attractiveness, and French Nationals Abroad, Government of France. The summit will mark 25 years of India-France friendship. Building a green future, new technologies, defence collaboration, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific regions will all be topics of discussion at the summit. The Minister will also attend a CEOs roundtable and meet with business executives from various sectors of the French economy. The Minister will travel on business to France and Italy from April 11 to April 13, 2023. A group of leading Indian CEOs would travel with the minister.
A gathering highlighting India’s cultural heritage and soft power will feature the Minister and French Minister, Mr. Olivier Becht. More than 600 dignitaries from the French government, the Indian Business Diaspora in France, and members of the French business community are expected to attend. The Minister will also communicate with people in Paris who are of Indian descent.
After meeting H.E. Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, the Minister will proceed to Rome, Italy, where he will attend a networking event with government and business officials. He is due to have bilateral discussions with some of the top CEOs in Italy. These meetings will be followed by CEOs’ interactive business sessions, in which 35 CEOs are expected to participate. A meeting with H.E. Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, who will also speak with Indian CEOs, will come after that.
The visit is anticipated to provide bilateral ties with India’s major trading partners in the European region more momentum.
