Supporting the National Startup Awards 2022 Winners and Finalists
Support is offered in specially selected tracks such as Investor Pitching, Government Connects, Corporate & Unicorn Engagements, Brand Showcase, and Global Market Access.
After the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, announced the results of the National Startup Awards 2022 on January 16, 2023, in honour of National Startup Day, the handholding support for winners and finalists of the National Startup Awards 2022 was launched by the Secretary, DPIIT, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh on May 2, 2023.
The handholding exercise will be carried out through numerous virtual and real sessions, delegations, showcases, and specialised support. The startups will be supported through a range of efforts designed to assist them in overcoming obstacles and achieving even greater success to facilitate the growth of the winners and finalists. DPIIT has designed specific tracks for entrepreneurs’ holistic learning and growth to give them focused support. These programmes have been carefully chosen to offer Investor Pitching, Government Connects, Corporate & Unicorn Engagements, Brand Showcases, and Global Market Access.
The hand-holding support has been designed to give the entrepreneurs the best showcasing, learning, and networking possibilities and help them establish their brands, generate talk about their products, and find ways to connect with potential clients. Several partners have also been brought on board to carry out the same. Government e-Marketplace, SIDBI, IVCA, IAN, HSBC, Mobikwik, Good Glam Group, PHDCCI, and Viacom 18 were among the major partners in attendance at the opening ceremony.
As part of the support given under the National Startup Awards 2020 across nine tracks, 400+ connections with ministries, investors, corporations, and mentors were facilitated; 12 episodes on winners were broadcast on Doordarshan Startup Champions; and 192 finalists received one-on-one mentoring from business professionals. Similarly, more than 30 knowledge sessions and more than ten pitching sessions were done for the winners and finalists as part of the handholding offered under the National Startup Awards 2021 across seven tracks. The cohort also got 185+ hours of mentoring on top of that. More than 110 startups also received the unique chance to exhibit at Dubai Expo.
The National Startup Awards (NSA) were created by Startup India, a government of India flagship programme under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), to honour and reward exceptional enterprises that have excelled financially, socially, and economically. The National Startup Awards’ first two iterations honoured and honoured more than 80 winners and 300 finalists. The National Startup Awards 2022 were given to 41 firms in 17 industries and 50 subsectors, as well as two incubators and one accelerator. In addition to the outstanding winners, the 82 startups that made it to the finals have all excelled during the evaluation process.
